Knowing what to take on a camping trip by making a camping gear list will make your camping trip safer and more comfortable, as you know that you will have everything you need at hand. However, not everybody’s list will be the same and you should decide what type of camper you are. Are you the type that likes to pack practically everything you own or are you quite happy with the bare essentials?

You should first worry about packing the basic essentials such as a tent, sleeping bags and blankets, a first aid kit and folding tables and chairs as well as food and cutlery. The first aid kit is one of the most important items on your list as all sorts of things can happen while outdoors. Your first aid kit should include things such as bandages, tweezers, scissors, bug repellent, antiseptic cream, latex gloves and a first aid handbook so that you are aware of what to do in various situations. Lighting is also important while camping and you should ensure that you have packed waterproof lights as there is usually no electricity on campsites.

Games are always great things to pack for a camping trip and should always be added to your camping gear list, they will provide endless hours of entertainment, especially for the children if they become bored. If you plan on hiking on your trip you may want to make sure that you have a compass with you, as it is very easy to get lost in the wild and perhaps tell someone who is not hiking with you where you are going so that they know where to send help if you need it.

There is an endless list of things you can add to your camping gear list but it is always wise to also pack according to the time of year in which your trip takes place. Camping can be a great and exciting outdoor adventure with the right equipment.
